In January of last year I lost a friend to cancer. A remarkable man by any standard. Beloved father and husband, well respected veterinary neurologist, friend to all, cowboy poet, ultra marathoner, wine grower and so much more.

A tale of sadness can be woven from his departure but that is not why I am writing this. I am writing to talk about how people came together and built a foundation to serve our four-legged companions and their human partners…

The foundation (Animal Care Center Foundation) was his brainchild before his passing and has since come to encompass many services and ideals.

Now that he has gone on to other ways of being, I am reminded of what can be accomplished by love, enthusiasm and courage.

Is there really anything that cannot be accomplished given the heart to do so?

I don’t think so.
